Hello

I am an RN who has worked in various venues for 10 years. I took 6 years "off" to raise my child and would now like to get back in to nursing...any advice?

Re: Hello

Welcome! If you have been away from nursing from 6 years, I would start by taking a refresher course at your local community college.

Re: Hello returning nurse

Hello fellow nurses,
I am an educator with a Nurse Refresher Program that assists nurses with re-entry into clinical practice and obtaining re-licensure. Our office is in Stafford, a southwest suburb of Houston, TX and we teach in several other cities in Texas as well as have a Correspondence Program. We offer the courses required by the Board of Nursing and have been doing so for over 8 years. We are a Texas Worksource and DARS provider for those in need of financial assistance to return. Clinicals are available at multiple sites so call us for information to get started. 281-313-7437 (local) or 877-313-7437 (toll free), visit the website at Welcome to PHES Online! Your online source for Nursing & Remediation Courses! or e-mail at phes@windstream.net.
Yes, you can return to practice. Stay encouraged.

Re: Hello

I am a nurse recruiter with a hospital in Bradenton, FL. We have partnered with a local college which offers an on-line nurse refresher course. The college is St. Petersburg College in St. Pete, FL. You can visit their continuing education section on their website for more information.

Also check with your local colleges as well as hospitals to see what programs they may offer. Good luck!

Question Re: Hello

I always wonder about folks that post up, then you never hear from them again?
