Hello everybody, my name is Michelle. I am 28 years old. I have a B.S. in Biology and I would like to pursue nursing. I want to start out as an LPN. I am going to be taking the nurse entrance exam in September and I am very nervous. I have been studying from a study guide that I got from the library, but I still I don't feel at ease with all the material. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share a few tips with me. I guess I am just concerned with the math portion, I complted calc when I was in college but that was 4 and 1/2 years ago, so I am very concerned, but if anyone is willing to share a few wise words with me I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome to the site, Michelle! I, too, started out as an LPN. Where are you planning on attending school?

If I remember correctly, the entrance exam I took wasn't too bad. Basic knowledge. No matter, we'll be here to support you. Math seems to be everyone's 'fear'.

'll be just fine. I started as an RPN many years ago before returning to school to be an RN. The exams are basic knowledge. The biggest thing with math is ratios. Kathyb

That's a good question nurselisa. I was wondering that too. The school you're thinking about Michelle, probably offers credits. Have you looked at the Rn course?

or perhaps going for a MSN-RN program.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with being an LPN, but if you'v already got a BSc in Biology and you want to go the RN route, for the same amount of time, you could get the RN with a MSN program.

Check into programs and weigh all the pros and cons.
