Red face hello

Greetings,

I just found this site and I have questions regarding travel nursing.I am a nurse with ten years nursing experience.I have done cardio/thoracic surgical ICU,ER,Vent Home care, transplant coordinator, Army nurse, medical instructor and former social worker. I found a top ten travel nurse company that was recommended by someone. It seems as if getting a travel job is like winning a lottery?! I have been getting no calls from anywhere. I am used to getting every job that I apply for outside of travel nursing. What is the secret? My husband and I wanted to do this together. He has been a nurse for two years and his experience is ICU/cardio-thoracic surgery and transplant. He has gotten no calls either. How much more experience do you need? And if you do get one job is it hard to get another job. We were going to do this to get ahead with bills and xtra retirement money.Any thoughts, I am baffled by this.

Question Re: A position I can offer

I just wanted to give you an example of an assignment that I have now. With ASAP start dates more than 1 position open!!! IF submitted you would probably be interviewed in the next 48 hours!!!!!!!!!

2 hospitals in Anchorage AK.

ICU Heart experience preferred. 13 week assignment 36 hour guarentee

Pay is $32.00-$33.00 an hour. We would provide fully furnished Private housing. There would be a $1300.00 housing stipend for you to split monthly. That would give you $3900 for retirement!!! TAX FREE

Rental car provided. Stipend of $500.00 monthly for other if you work at same hospital same shift this would work out ok. That would add $1500.00 to retirement funds TAX FREE

Both would receive licensure reimbursement of $300.00- license and a temp permit total $374.00.

Travel allowance of $600.00 each

If we multiply both hourly wages at $33.00 an hour by 36 hours by 13 weeks you guys total $30,888 before taxes are taken out.

In addition to the $5400.00 TAX FREE stippends

Re: hello

I've learned to sign up with more than one company to have more options. Right now I'm working with a couple who travel together but they don't always get to work in the same facility, but at least the same area. Good luck!
