Hi Dwight, Welcome. You made an interesting career change. Why palliative care? I ask because I too have an interest in the field. I currently work in critical care which is where so many people end up who are terminally sick with a variety of illnesses including cancer. They're medically decompensated and nobody around them knows what to do. We try to stabilize but more importantly, we try to direct toward palliative care but that doesn't always happen. A palliative care specialist recently joined the physician staff so I'm anxious to see how things develop. I may transfer to that unit should one open. Thanks for writing. R | |
