Newbie - single mom on her way to nursing school :)

    Hello everyone!

I am a recently single mom of a 7 month old/displaced homemaker and am going to be returning to schol to finish up a few prereqs so I can get my RN. I've got a pretty good business background education wise but I wanted to do something that's more versatile, where I'll never have to worry about finding a job. I love my current job working at a credit union but I also have a heavenly little piece of acreage in the mountains here in WA where I'm dying to build my "forever home" and there's not a whole lot of jobs out there in my current field (but 2 hospitals within commuting distance!).

ANyway, I wanted to say hi and introduce myself, I'll probably be asking a TON of questions about school and balancing parenthood... not an easy thing for a single parent, I'm sure, so I'm definitely going to be utilizing this forum as a great resource for information and fellowship

Way to go! I've been a nurse for over 30 years and still love it. There are so many options available. After you get through nursing school and get a solid 1 to 2 years in a speciality, you can call the shots.
I do alot of my work from home. My son's 16 but he needs closer supervision in certain areas than when he was younger.
Where there's a will, there's a way. Stick with it and you'll be living that dream life in the mountains.
    Good luck and God bless.
    :luck:
