| Am I Too Old I'm 47 years old and my thoughts are to go to school to become an RN. Would you say that I should find another field at my age? It's been a long time since I have been in school and its frightening. If this is something to consider does anyone have any sugestions on where to begin. I have seen so many nursing school ads its overwhelming. Is there a place for only old ladies !?! Any help will be greatly appreciated. ![]() |

| Administrator | Re: Am I Too Old Hi, Julie, and welcome to the site! 47...old? *Snort!* No, you are not old. There were 2 ladies in their 50's in my LPN class. Of course, I was the oldest in my BSN class, at 39. Basically, age is just a number. If you are interested in Nursing, I say talk to a counselor at your local Community College, first. They would be able to formulate a good plan of action for you. Keep in touch, and let us know how things work out. 'Cat' |

With the ability to get your degree in 1-2 years and all the oppurtunities with different fields of nursing you definately are not too old. I agree with starting with your local Community College. |
