| Hey everyone. I'm currently doing my first assignment as a travel nurse in Seattle, my hometown, and I'm trying to decide where I should go for my next assignment. I'm in my early 20's and looking for a decent-sized city with lots of fun things to do and also a lot of other travelers and/or people around my age. I'm thinking about maybe Denver (for the skiing) or Miami (for the beach/nightlife). Any other suggestions for fun cities to travel to? Has anyone worked in Denver or Miami? |

I live in Pittsburgh and I enjoy well enough but I have heard from others who have come here from somewhere else that they hate it with a passion. I have heard amazing things about Denver though so you may wanna check that out. As far as Colorado goes I hear that Boulder is really cool too. |

| I am in california, and I have spoken to a few nurses that went to Reno....and they loved it. There is skiing, and shows and casinos (if you like that kind of thing), and I heard the hospitals are fun too. |

| Re: Young travel nurse looking for fun! I did 3 months in Miami about a year and a half ago. The hospital (North Shore) sucked, but that could've just been the ER. Dangerous nurse/patient ratios. Housing was great in Aventura, 20 minutes from the hospital. Night life was great, but it's an expensive city. Cover charge at some SoBe clubs $20 unless you're a hot girl in a tight skirt. Went with Cross Country. Had an extremely positive experience with them up until the last day. Was forced to leave my assignment 2 days early and drive home on 2 hours sleep due to their housing error. I won't travel with them again because I can't get anyone to give me a simple apology. I miss Miami though. Good luck! |

| Re: Young travel nurse looking for fun! Miami is cool.Stay away from Mt Sanai though.I call it Mt Satan I liked South Miami hospital a lot.Better get a book on medical Spanish though.Actually there are enough spanish speaking staff around to interpret but knowing un poco espanol helps a lot. Ft Lauderdale is cool also.Check out the action on Las Olas at night if you go there. |

| Re: Young travel nurse looking for fun! You might like Santa Barbara, California. It's warm - even in the winter, a college town and right on the water. LA is only a 2 hour drive away too.
