| I've been traveling for about 6 years now and if you're either new to traveling or thinking of renewing contracts, be wary of short term contracts. Most places are SUPPOSED to treat you as "regular" staff, but with short term contracts they treat you like you're "agency per-diem", you know, the worst patients, the patients at opposite ends of halls, etc. Whatever you do DON'T do contract HOME HEALTH, especially with Amedisys, yea they're hurting for people, but you're not "regular staff" so in under 6 months time your vehicle will have over 3000 miles a month and you'll get the patients that have been thrown out of every agency in the state. If you don't have it in your contract believe me these people will MAKE you do it. Make SURE you have it in writing BEFORE you go anywhere with any agency. Think things through and if you come up with worse case scenerio, make sure you have an out in your contract to get you out without costing you all you've made. |
