| Travel RN housing taxes? HELP! I'm just wondering if anyone out there can help me. This is my first travel assignment. I do not own property and my company is providing housing. The housing cost is being added to my gross monthly income and I am being taxed on it. By the time I get my paycheck, my net income is being taxed at almost 50% (I'm not exaggerating!) Is this just how it is? I always heard that traveler's make more money. This housing tax has cut my income so much that I don't think it makes sense to be a traveler. My benefits are also less than impressive. Did I just chose the wrong company? I heard good things about them before I started (PPR). I have also spoken with other travelers at the hospital who say that they get tax free housing. I have an appointment with a tax attorney next week, but I would be grateful for any info or advice. |

| Re: Travel RN housing taxes? HELP! I was told that if you do not own a home you would be taxed for the "free housing". This waw explained to me by Stephanie in Cross Country Staffing. You should check into the irs.gov website, I think it is so important to do homework before dealing with these agencies. Carlie, RN |
