Travel Pay Rates in California

I am negotiating my first contract to travel to southern California and plan on traveling to northern California in the future. So I am trying to get an idea of what travel companies are paying in these areas and what sort of housing is being given out. I am an RN that works in Critical Care areas and so if anyone has any information on what the going rates are I would appreciate the info. Thanks for your time in advance.

Re: Travel Pay Rates in California

Hi,,, $35 is the going rate in Northern Cali. and not much less in So Cali now. You should get fully furnished private housing.. i.e. you bring your clothes and toiletries.. If you are coming across the country you might not want to drive so you should get airfare and car rental..Not many do that but some do. Depends on who you go with ..

Also, check to see if you are getting OT after 8 hours in a day and DT after 12. Makes a big difference.

Re: Travel Pay Rates in California

I am on my first assignment in Northern Calif. My company TRS does not pay time and half over 8 but does pay double over 12,holiday's,and over 40 per week.I have been researching and cannot get any straight answer's. I am making less on this assignment than I have back home in midsouth USA.Does anyone out there work for TRS in Calif? I am trying to figure out if it benefit's me on this taxfree plan I am on out here. I make a low hourly rate with HAP pay { tax-free money} added weekly.However,my double time is based on that low hourly rate instead of the 35 hour average rate of most travelor's I have spoke with. I get an additional HAP pay ,which is actually going for housing,approx,3,500 dollar's for this entire 13 week .My total package average is 40 per hour when it is figured,I feel like i am getting low pay up here compared to other travelor's.I am new in this,2 year's,and have only worked for 2 agency's so have alot to learn. My bring home for 36 hour's is approx.1000 wk..Is this low here?Total package is 18,750.00? [font=Signature]Text[/f]Text[tt] Text [/tt]

You need to go to Delphiforums.com and click on "health/wellness" then click on "travel nurses and therapists" and read the thread called "Global Nurses" - this will help you regarding your question.

Walter;
Go to http://www.readyrefer.com/5834 They have the best pay & benefits of any company out there; after checking out these folks, you'll see nobody else even comes close. Please let any of your other travel nurse friends know about this, too!

Re: Travel Pay Rates in California

Hi

You could try contacting A&A nursing web site is aanursing.biz. they have contracts throughout California You get a $3000/mo expense stipend to cover travel and housing ect. This is tax free and you spend it how you want just remember to keep your receipts for tax time. A&A has several different places to house you or you can find your own. they can steer you in the right direction. the hourly is kind of complicated to explain but it breaks down to $31.66 per hour for stipend shifts. Time and half after 8 double time after 12 or after 40 hours per week. You need to work 12/12 hours shifts to work back the up front stipend. If you choose to pick up extra shifts they are paid at $45/hr in Northern california, with reg time for the first four and double time for the last eight if that is the 4th shift in the week.

An example I can personally give of the support this company gives their nurses is this week I was Ill and they showed up at my house with Crackers, chicken soup, gatorade, flowers to help make me feel better. I was not made to feel bad for having to call in for a shift, their focus was me and my well being. What more could you ask for?

Re: Travel Pay Rates in California

I make $43 and hour in northern california which is actually $50.16 and hour since after 8 hours I get 1.5x pay. I also get $1800/month housing stipend. I usually see around $3000/ week working a little bit of overtime. The great thing is I make so much money that my company now gives me $1600/week yes a week as a tax free stipend so I don't have to work as much and still make good money.
