| Re: Travel and Family Not sure how you would be able to do this with your 4 kids & husband- it is very rare to find assignments that will last a whole school year, and I personally don't think it would be good for kids to be switching schools all the time, or even every year. And, you would probably have to find your own housing- a travel company will pay for a 1 bedroom apartment & furniture, they will not provide you with housing for you, your husband, and your 4 kids, plus furniture to fill it. I'm not saying it can't be done, I just think it would be VERY difficult, and would be very rough on the kids.

| Admin aka Shortbus | Re: Travel and Family You can do it if you can find assignments within driving distance. I know of some nurses who would take an assignment a few hours away in the same state, and would stay in the apartment there when they needed to, and at home when they could. They would get their shifts as close together as possible so they could be home often. Also, if you timed it just perfect, you could take an assignment in the summer and you could take the family with you. It would be like a summer vacation away from home for the family, except you'd be working .The only problem with that though, is that if you aren't between jobs, you probably would have to quit and may not have a job waiting for you when you get back. Also, some companies do provide fully furnished apartments. I know because back in the day I used to have to deliver all the stuff from the storage facility to the apartments for my mom's company. Beds, couches, tables, chairs, dinnerware, iron, microwave, linens, tv, dvd player, towels, etc. Man that was such a pain in the you know what!!! |

| Re: Travel and Family Fully furnished apartments- yes, but fully furnished housing for 6 people- no. If you're the only one staying there, it wouldn't be a problem, but if you want to take your husband and 4 kids, you'd have to take the housing stipend and find your own housing.
