Time frames

how long are some of you having to wait now for new assignments?
i am on week 4 now and it is getting really scary out here. I am amazed that we are facing such a crisis in our profession.
i am a nurse with 17 years of very well rounded nursing and i cant find a job. it is crazy.
just curious for others out there. i know we must all be fighting for the same jobs these days.

Re: Time frames

I'm in the same boat. It's been 3 weeks. I was at the same assignment for past 7 months in PA. and even though they offered an extension, I just could not stay any longer.(nurses were treated like dirt) I'm not up for DISRESPECT. I'm signed on with 4 companies, 2 large and 2 smaller.
I have been submitted to a med surg tele in Mass yesterday but no call yet.
Thanks for sharing, you're not alone

Re: Time frames

i have even started looking for a full time spot and that is not something i really want to do. there just are not jobs. it is so darn crazy.
i was upset at the idea of nurses coming from other countries but now i am conisdering going outside the US. what a switch in my thinking.
but i am sure that is not any easier to go outside either.
too crazy. all of it.
my last job i was in a group of 80 other nurses for a spot. the place i ended up in was not bad but not great. not real travel nurse friendly. but that is the way of it for us.

Red face Re: Time frames

I've seen comments by travel nurses saying that they have been forced to take full time positions due to lack of travel spots. Wonder how long it will take for travel nursing to recover from this, if it ever does.
