Thinking of Travelling Hi!! I am thinking about travel nursing. I live in South Mississippi and have worked Labor and Delivery for 3 years....I LOVE IT!!!! A friend that I went to Nursing School with and now work with on L&D is planning on going with me. We are completely clueless on what to do and ask when looking for a GOOD agency to go with. We are planning on taking an assignment closer to home the first time. That way we can take our vehicles, come home occasionally and see how we like it!! We are both single without children (other than my 2 cats) and are very excited about travel!!! ANY advice anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Re: Thinking of Travelling Boy I wish I was in your shoes. I can't travel until next year. I have a son that will be a SR in high school and don't want to pull him out his Sr year (also have older kids that are gone and a 5 yr old). I'm L&D also and have been at the same hospital 12+ years and love the hospital and co-workers but time to move on to a warmer climate.

Re: Thinking of Travelling I wish you were ready to travel with your friend right now. I have two fantastic L & D positions in St. Augustine, Florida. It is a charming area on the Atlantic coast and a great facility. We get new postings all the time and we would love to help you get started traveling. Here is our website address: www.netisstaffing.com. You can find out all about us and all about traveling there. Best of luck. Hope to work with you. Pat Davis, RN

Re: Thinking of Travelling Cassioo - don't worry, there will always be positions out there when you are ready. You are doing the right thing by checking out the industry and learning what you can now. The National Council of State Boards of nursing website has some really great information about licensing and other things too. www.ncsbn.org is their web address.

Re: Thinking of Travelling A good web site to check out is nursecorps.us I have traveled with them in the past and they are great. They can even put you in an apt. where you can bring your cats. The pay is great and the people are wonderful.
