Putting the squeeze on....

Hey everyone, first post here... seems like a great site. I've been traveling for about 1.5yrs and am planning on a travel assignment in southern Cali (San Diego or L.A.) I've been with the same company since the start. I've heard that companies are more willing to match housing stipends if I have current competitor company rates for stipend. Anyone working in that area can quote me what their stipend is so I have a starting point to work with..

-Thnx Mike

I was in San Diego and majority of my friends were getting 1800-2000 for there stipend with american mobile. But they try to start you off with 1500, so make sure you negotiate.

I was in San Diego for 6 months this past winter, I didn't take the stipend, I took company housing, but I do know that my company was spending approx. $1800/month on me for rent & utilities.

Re: Putting the squeeze on....

I wanted to stay in San Diego a little longer- the ER at Kaiser wasn't too bad- not my favorite assignment, but not bad.

Re: Putting the squeeze on....

My previous company broke it all down and I got $522 per week both in Fresno and Santa Barbara. A better deal in Fresno but still doable either way. My current company doesn't break my housing and other per diem stuff down so I don't know for sure how much is for housing.
