Problem with job offer

Finally got a travel job offer in ct. However, it is 8 hour shifts which i hate more than anything. So i requested to work 32 hours a week instead of 40 and they declined it. So now i feel stressed out just thinking of going in everyday to a hospital job. I"ll get depressed especially if it's a really busy unit which it probably is because it's surgical tele.
I really love the 12 hours shifts because you can take off and site see. But with 8's you can't.
Now i have to let them know at days end.
Help me with suggestions.........

Hm.... that's a tough one. With how scarce travel assignments are right now, I'd take it- if you pass it up, if could be months before you find something else.

Re: Problem with job offer

Thanks Amanda
I turned down the offer.. I worked 8 hour shifts last summer and hated it so much, too stressful and I was miserable.
So after that I promised myself never to do it again.
Well, I don't regret my decision.

I can understand that- hopefully you will find something soon! Do you go on Twitter at all? You can sign up free, and then do a search, and sign up to get updates from various travel companies that post tweets with new assignments as they come in.

I'm trying to get into travel nursing, how difficult is it to get an assignment right now? Because there are tons of travel jobs posted it seems.

It is a little difficult to find travel positions right now, but getting better. To travel you will need at least 1-2 yrs experience in your specialty. Even with a lot of experience, you might have a hard time as a first-time traveler, as many hospitals want nurses who have traveled before. You will increase your chances of finding a travel job is you are flexible on what locations you will travel to.
