Thumbs down Preferred Healthcare Staffing, Cross Country Travcorp?

I'm new to travel nursing. Does anyone have any thoughts on Preferred Healthcare or Cross Country Travcorp? How soon should one have to make a decision after a telephone interview?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Re: Preferred Healthcare Staffing, Cross Country Travcorp?

Hey. A few of my friends are doing CCTC and they LOVE it. I have also been in contact with them and my recruiterS (i have two? normal?) have promised me free private housing on ALL assignments.

I am currently with RN Network and they were offereing free housing, which is why I orginally went with them. They have offered me more hospital options though, which is nice. I am considering switching over to them for my next contract.

You don't have any "contracts" until you verbally accept an assignment. You should probably say yes or no to a hospital within a few days of receiving an offer. The day I was offered an assignment my recruiter from RN Network called me 3 times (while I was at work!) to see if I would accept a position. Sheesh!

Re: Preferred Healthcare Staffing, Cross Country Travcorp?

First ALL housing should be private and free and include total utilities.. There are over 300 travel nurse agencies.

Every contract should have at least the following;

1)Free private housing, to include all utilities (some agencies also include cable and local phone), the address of the apt/hotel to include move in and out dates

2)Day one health insurance (some are free, some you pay for)

3)Round trip travel $ or round trip air fare paid by the agency

4)Some pay car allowance

5) the words: Guarunteed hours in your contract, your base pay, your time and a half pay, if you get a car allowance, or a housing allowance instead of them getting an apt, the total weekly hours you are to work and what shift, if you take on call, that amount should be stated.

If it is not in writing then it doesn't exist, do not believe recruiters, thier words will not hold up in court nor with any state employment commission. Your contract will be your proof should you need to file for unpaid wages.

Preferred Healthcare is an American Mobile company. Cross Country TravCorp is a Cross Country Healthcare company. Both of these companies are good but "big" and cookie cutter in terms of the packages they offer. I have heard very good things about Lucida Staffing Travel Nursing Jobs - Travel Nurse - Healthcare Informatics as they are a "flexibile careers" company and customize a package specific to your needs.

Anyways . . .all 3 companies are good.
