I was curious to find out if anyone has worked for Preferred Healthcare Staffing on your opinion on the company. Also was wondering if anyone has ever worked at Cottage Hospital in Sana Barbara, CA and know if they are a "traveler friendly" hospital. Also, the company I am with now only pays $250 each way for travel expenses. If your plane ticket is over that, which Ihave looked at tickets from where I am now to Santa Barbara and they are well over $250, am I responsible for paying the extra amount needed to cover the ticket? Thanks for any input!

OMG yes unless you wanna walk.. LOL Sorry just struck me funny. I would find another company to get me there. Guess they don't need a nurse all that bad.

Preffered Healthcare is the same company as American Mobile and I would recommend not working for them. They always paid me less than every other traveler. They Made me promises they couldn't keep and the benefits are not all that great. I work for trustaff now and it is horrible and am switching to RN Network as soon as this assignment is finished. They have all the benefits I am looking for and the pay is much better than all of the other agencies I've checked into. As far as Santa Barbara goes, I loved it there. There is a lot of things to do there and it is absolutely beautiful there. The staff was very nice and the nurse to patient ratio is very good. I worked on the tele unit and had 4 to 5 patients a night. I would recommend going there. Hope this helps,

Thanks for the info. I have decided to stay in my hometown and take a permanent job for now. I will have the opportunity to be cross-trained in two other areas. I will get experience in ICU as well as ER so I will be much easier to place when I do travel again. Which hopefully will not be that long!
