    highschool nursing southcalifornia colleges

hi im a senior in highschool and am very interested in becoming a nurse, specifically an RN or NP someday. i live in california and i am deciding between two cal states: long beach and los angeles. did any of you guys go there? i know they both have great nursing programs, but i just need a few details.

also how would a nurse start in opening up a clinic? i have heard of nurse entreprenuership. but would a stable job as an NP be better?

i plan to commute to school(but i still want to go to a good nursing school) so these colleges are near by, with long beach being a little farther. so where did all of you guys go to school and how was your first year? do you start off taking direct nursing classes, or is it basic biology and math stuff.

if i plan to get my masters, would i first have to get a bachelor's degree? and go back to school? sorry im still in highschool and am clueless about most of these things, but i have a tendency to plan ahead.

    thanks.

Would probably be a good idea to choose the school closest to home so you wont have to waste so much time commuting and money on gas. Both schools are good. Might want to contact the program U R interested in to get info about the classes required to complete a degree. Then U will know what classes to take. I think that 6 units of Anatomy and physiology, chemistry, microbiology, developmental psychology, english are basic pre-requisits for most nursing programs. Yes you must have a Bachelors degree to be admitted to a Masters degree or nurse practioner program.

Many Master's programs allow RN to Master's bypassing the BSN degree..At least here in the east.
