Cool New Traveler

I am new to traveling and was wondering how early do you start looking for your next assignment. I am on my 1st and so far been asked to extend 2 times and have done so because it works for me at this time. I am concerned about having my next job lined up in advance and where do you look for jobs if the company you're with does not have what you want.
Thanks in advance

Re: New Traveler

We have a request for information form that you can fill out out Travel Nursing Information

There are plenty of companies out there and you can find the right Travel Job at the right facility if you start looking early enough.

You want to make sure that you are not without a job so I would suggest looking as soon as you know what you want to do on your next assignment.

Do you want to travel to a different state? Are you already licensed in that state? Is it a compact state? How long will it take you to get a nursing license in that state if you aren't already licensed?

How much travel time is it going to take to get from this assignment to the next and how are you going to get there?

If you use the form I linked to, fill out all of the specific details of what you are looking for. Be as specific as possible. Make sure that they understand what you want and if you aren't flexible on them make sure that you note that.

In theory, as long as the Staffing Companies you are looking at have the assignment you want, it shouldn't take any time at all, however it is always best to be prepared and have a backup plan.

If it was me and I knew I would not be renewing again, I would start looking for my next assignment as soon as I knew I was leaving.
