| Need some general info..... Hi everyone...I am actually a nursing student(not sure if I'm supposed to be here or not). I am planning to work as an ER nurse or ICU. I have been intrigued by traveling nursing for a while and I was wondering if anyone could give some info such as, how much experience is needed to start, what can/do traveling er nurses expect to make, and any words of wisdom in general would be appreciated. Thanks! Eric B ![]() |

| Re: Need some general info..... I just wanted to let you know traveling is wonderful. Usually you need about 1 year experience. I work in ER and have 13 year experience. I have been traveling for 3 years. I wish I would have done it sooner. There are a lot of benifits. My average pay is about 30-40 dollars an hour. The only problem is that I have no sick time or paid vacation. And insurance is only active while you are working for a company, so if you take time off you are not covered. I have been coast to coast and just love seeing new places and meeting new people. Hope you do well and have fun in whatever you do. |
