| NEED HELP!!!!!! I need some help on a traveling subject. I have been a traveler for about three yrs now (with the same company) Up to a few months ago I have been fairly satisfied with the company and my recruiter. But recently have begun to feel as if the company doesnt have the "personal" touch any longer. I am finishing a contract this Sunday (May 14th) and because I didnt really feel like moving (have only been in my apt two of the three months) I VERBALLY agreed to extend (I say verbally since I havent signed the actual contract yet) Something occured on my last scheduled day to make me really question my decision to extend at this particular facility (it really hasnt been a very good assignment overall) Now to the question at hand..........If I havent signed the actual extension contract.....can my company hold me legally liable for anything (housing etc) if I do not extend at the last minute??? I already have another company lined up (have been for about 4 months now) and they are willing to get me another assignment, housing within the next week.........HELP!!!! Any comments or opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks ![]() |

| Admin aka Shortbus | Re: NEED HELP!!!!!! I doubt they could, however what would likely happen is they WOULD and then it would be up to you to dispute the last paycheck you got where they deducted the housing expenses. There are some companies who will eat the cost, but you never know... |

| Re: NEED HELP!!!!!! I've been taveling for years and when you accept an assignment..you HAVE TO have a signed contract for them to withhold any money from you. A verbal committment won't hold up in court. |

| Re: NEED HELP!!!!!! The travel company will swear that a verbal contract is binding. However, the only state that recognizes a verbal agreement is Louisiana. And that's only if one of the parties is unable to read. Do not let them threaten you into leaving. |
