Re: Need Advice On Traveling With Family

I met a travel nurse with a non working spouse that has 3 teenagers and home schools while travel nursing. Anyway, takes the housing stipend and finds housing.

You may have to stay in one area to maintain public schooling and whatever stability the kids need. But you can make it work if you can extend your contract. Find out if the hospital has ongoing travel nurse needs whereby you can stay longer than 13 weeks.

Re: Need Advice On Traveling With Family

Just an FYI, make sure you negotiate your stipend because you could easily get $2500, but some companies will start off offering like $2000. Never accept their first offer. Also, do not try working at California pacific medical center..... awful awful assignment in the icu there. we had like 3 or 4 travelers leave mid contract cuz they couldnt take it anymore. ANd i was contemplating taking the financial hit to get out of there myself, but I finished it off.
