Nationwide Nurses anyone?

Hello,

I am considering travel nursing. I have been wanting to do it for a long time. I saw their ad which said 35,000 in 13 weeks. In addition to this, you get bonuses, housing, etc. No insurance, but they give you 50.00 a week for you to get your own. Also no 401K. To get that amount you work 3 12hr shifts one week and 4 12hr shifts the next.

The one thing I have seen is the unclear amount of income one earns as a travel nurse. I realize different areas pay differently, but I want to know it is worth my while to do it. At first I would go anywhere the pay is highest as long as the hospital is decent.

Also, anyone out there with a family? I plan to travel in the summer with my 3 daughters. The oldest is 16 and will be with us half of the time since she will be at camp. When she graduates I want to travel FT for a couple of years and homeschool my younger 2.

There should be a forum for everyone to write about there experience when they finish a contract to tell about their life while there. Information about the hospital, places lived, community life, etc. Maybe there is one I have missed.

Thanks again for the input!!
Ginger
