My Travel Career: Short and not so sweet

So I finally got the kids raised, the husband convinced and we were ready to go! I have always wanted to do travel nursing and this was my chance. I signed with an agency and they found me a position in my desired location and things were going my way! I moved into an apartment ready set up with furniture, utilities on and rent paid for 13 weeks. Man, I had it made. Then I get to the hospital, OMG! Worked me like a dog, 6-7 pts on a med tele floor and never met the manager (I work nights). Oh well, this is cool anyway and I can put up with anything for 13 weeks,(right?) then I can go on to another place. Then, after 4 weeks on assignment, while strolling through Wal Mart, my phone rings. My recruiter informs me that my contract has been cancelled, the floor hired too many travelers and had to get rid of most. So I found out that in 2 wks I had no job, no place to live and no health insurance. They have other places to go, but no where I want to be. So....on to my next journey. I know that I will no longer work with travel agencies, I need a more consistant paycheck and a place to live with health insurance at all times. We live and learn, right?
