Post Msn Health

Has anyone used MSN Health before. I am supposed to do a 13 week contract starting in Janurary 2006. This will be my first time to travel. Not sure if it is ok to mention the pay. but, they are offering 28.00/hr and 1900.00 monthly housing allowence. does this sound about right or not. I live in alabama so, i am hoping to work 3 shifts in a row so that i can come home and work a couple days a week. ER is my specialty. also, does anyone have a website for an agency that has travel positions in the caribbean. I had one a couple of years ago but, cant seem to find it now. has anyone ever traveled to st. thomas to work. i have been there several times on vacation and really like it. thanks

Re: Msn Health

depends where you are going as if the pay and benefits are ok. companies dont like you to discuss pay etc....most of the time there is a clause in your contract that states that you are not to discuss this! be careful.
as for st. thomas. i worked with a RN named gene. he was from vermont. he worked in the virgin islands for a long time on contract. he said it was the pits!! he stated that the hospital was so nasty, the bugs bigger than he was and they were even crawling in the OR!he said that the patients brought their own linens to the hospital. he said the staff was bad, their standards not up to par and that the pay was very very low. the prices some pay for paradise. i suggest .....take a vacation. it can be a very very long and miserable 13 weeks. and if you decide to walk out of the contract....make sure you have the money to fly back...you are on your own!!

Re: Msn Health

I've never worked as a traveler in virgin islands, i have heard bad things about working there. Same as above. If you are still interested in working there, PRN Health Services was working on getting a contract there last month. Don't know if they have finalized it yet. I don't have their number right now but they have a website.
By the way, your hourly pay for your contract sure sounds LOW.......
Let us know if you travel to the virgin islands!!
