| Lots of questions Hi, I am not traveling yet, but in the research phase. I am currently a DON at a small rural hospital with experience in Med/Surg and ER. I have BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC. I am 48 years old and been in nursing for 13 years and ready to get out of management and travel. I would like some advise on questions I need to ask when choosing an agency to go with. Wages - if OT what is the norm.....double or time in a half? Bonus - completion bonus. This kind of worries me that a hospital has to pay a completion bonus. It gives me the sense that this might not be a pleasant place to work. Taxes - do you have an accountant to figure out your taxes with the amount of housing benefits, mileage, working in different states, retirement benefits, etc? I live in a compact state right now, How long does it usually take to get a license in a noncompact state and does agencies help you get them? Can you work for more than one agency? Any other advice would be appreciated? Thanks - rodggang |
