Cool Looking to Travel

I'm looking to travel (first timer) to Virginia as a tele nurse. Any ideas on hospitals and travel companies would much appreciated.

I'm from Virginia and here are some hospitals that might be needing telem. RNs.
Virginia Commonwealth Univ/Medical College of VA in Richmond
University of Virginia in Charlottesville
Johnston-Willis Hospital (Medical Center?) in Richmond/Chesterfield
Chippenham Hospital in Richmond/Chesterfield

The first two are obviously teaching hospitals if you are into that area; the other two are private I think. I attended the first for nursing school and worked at the second.

My company is American Traveler; it's not one of the well-known big companies, but I like them. Email me and I'll give you my recruiter's name.

Re: Looking to Travel

I am so confused. No of the travel agencies can give me a straight answer. To all you current and past travel nurses, please answer the following question.
I want to make in excess of $30.00 /hr (base per hour pay from the hospital) along with receiving housing, insurance, meal and incidentals, etc.? Is this possible?? Or is the $30.00 ++ what they are quoting me, includes all the extras (Housing, insurance, meals) and my real taxable pay is only $20.00 hour.
I am so confused.

Re: Looking to Travel

I just completed an assignment at Sentara Norfolk General in the CCU. The staff was great, the management kind of was less then helpful and the pay sucked. VA really doesn't pay well at all. To get the money you're looking for, you need to go either west or far northeast. I hear patient ratios can get pretty scary in CT and VT though. Norfolk was a nice area if you're prepared for 50 million ,ilitary boys running around and acting stupid! Also, try to avoid Columbus Station Apartments, that's where they put me up and I had ALL KINDS of problems with them! Hope this helps
