list of things to bring?

Hey, I'm a new traveler and have started to make a list of things to bring, but I'm sure I'm leaving things off. If anyone could help by letting me know what you forgot to bring from home your first time or things you wish you had, I would greatly appreciate it!! Oh, and it's a furnished apt but no tv, microwave, etc.

Re: list of things to bring?

toilet paper, food storage and freezer bags, paper towels, dish detergent. Think about things you would leave out to use if you were moving to another place. Use the things you take for granite as a guide. Notice the little things you use at home and put those at the top of your list. You'd be surprised at what you take for granite but would greatly miss if you did not have it handy.

Re: list of things to bring?

When I get to a new assignment, I go to a dollar store and get the following:
shower curtain & rings, garbage can, plastic drinking cups, cleaning supplies.

That way, when I move, I can just throw that stuff away, and don't have to drag it around the country with me...

Regarding vaccuum, the office at the apartment complex will let you borrow. That's if you are taking the housing.

You could be nice and leave the garbage can/shower curtain behind.

Some apartment complexes will charge you a "cleaning fee" if you leave anything behind.

Some will, some won't- check with the complex office first.
