Lafayette Louisiana?

Just got an email from my recruiter with an offer in Lafayette Louisiana. I haven't even had an interview but I have the offer if I want it. Has anyone worked in this area or at Southwest Medical before? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm waiting for the nurse manager's number so I can ask some questions.

Re: Lafayette Louisiana?

I would be wary of any facility that will hire a nurse without interviewing them.....

Cool Re: Lafayette Louisiana?

i know that's what i thought! if they're not even interviewing how desperate are they? my recruiter said "it's because they routinely receive nurses from our company and know we will send them the best"
it's a tele floor and they want to know my answer by today. not sure

Re: Lafayette Louisiana?

I am currently on assignment at my second HCA facility, and it is very clear to me that with HCA, it's all about the bottom line. Safety, staff retention, and job satisfaction take a backseat the the mighty dollar..... This translates to unsafe assignments and working short staffed.

That line your recruiter fed you sounds like just that- a line. I would still be VERY wary of a facility that will hire a nurse without interviewing them....

Re: Lafayette Louisiana?

I'm with a HCA hospital we haven't really worked short nursewise they do send people home and have them on call and really stick with the staffing grid and have run out of supplies since it's not a central supply and they get things shipped in from some central warehouse but all in all I've been happy with my assignment I've extended once and hope to again. I interviewed with a charge nurse listening in with the manager of another unit since mine was on vacation.
