Kaiser-San Jose I heard nightmares about Kaiser hospitals...wondering if anyone has worked at Kaiser in SJ and what it might be like? Thanks!

Re: Kaiser-San Jose Hi. I was there 5/04 to 12/04. Very kooky system. Once you infiltrate the cliques, all is well. Great money-TONS of opportunity for overtime if you so choose. We thoroughly enjoyed the area-took full advantage of the "traveling" part of my job. Best of luck!......

Kaiser is all about conserving money...and to that end I found myself "floated" to a different unit every 4 hours during 12 hr. shifts....in addition to the usual **** on travelers/agency attitudes reflected in assignments of patients at opposite ends of unit and give agency the most difficult, uncooperative, non-complaint patients. Working night shift, I also had meds that needed to be given with food and diabetics who needed protein snacks....and not a single cracker or dish or jello available in the refrigerator. Hope you have a better experience, but I felt Kaiser treated RNs like an expendable commodity or worse.
