Hello, I am just starting in nursing school and was wanting some advice on how I could prepare myself for school and for a career as a traveling nurse. I realize I might be jumping the gun a little but I like to be well imformed and over prepared. Any help, suggestions, articles that any one could suggest would be greatly appreciated. Jake

Re: Just starting No, you are not jumping the gun. I learned about traveling when a company came to my school. I then worked for 3 years at home before traveling. You will find a specialty that you like and/or are good at while in school. Then work in that field for a year. The more specialties you have the more travel opportunities you will have. Some valuable ones I've noticed are Cardiac & ER. When you figure out what you like, study and learn all you can.

Re: Just starting I too am just starting school ,and have an interest in becoming a travel nurse. however I will be an LPN ,and worry because most travel nurses seem to be RN's. do you think I'll be able to get hired as a LPN?
