    feathers,
i worked with on assignment in new orleans. my facility was WEST JEFFERSON MEDICAL CENTER. my recruiter wasn't too bad, the facility however was a trip. no supplies and constant understaffing was only two of the problems which plague the place. with the hospital system in NEW ORleans overburdened as it is, guess who picks up the slack. the biggest problem is the management in the er. cant really speak for any other unit, but the er is a snafu. good luck.
i have traveled with on assignment now for for almost 3 years and only wanted to beat my recruiter twice. let me know if you have any questions.

I worked in New Orleans with On Assignment for 6 months at West Jefferson on 8West. Understaffed and low morale with perm staff, but a great assignment. Always got overtime, which is what I want when I travel. Nurse manager worked with me on my schedule and was very nice. Housing was not the greatest, but safe. Money was great and my recruieter with OA always stayed in touch and took care of all my needs. Her name is Kirsten Hawkins, she's great. Not with OA now, but will go back to them soon. Good luck

I have worked 5 contracts with on assignment and would recommend them. good recruiter, reliable payroll and good rates ...only problem is their health insurance! it's with unitedhealth care, worst ppo ever had and you pay between $50-$100 per week depending on the length of your contract.

have friends from new orleans who are on contract there now and they say it is really tough. But great $$$$ and in this business you get what you pay for - %99 of the time there is a reason the rate is soooo good

hope this helps and good luck
