| I am trying to gather as much info as I can about traveling. How much experience should you have on the floor right out of school before starting and is it best to be in a specialty area or just med surg? I want to have at least 2 yrs experience before I venture out, is that going to be enough? Thanks any info is appreciated! |

| Re: How much experience? I just started traveling after a year experience in Med Surg. I worked fulltime with a hospital on an intermediate step down floor. Nothing spectacular. Just vent certified. Most travel companies now want either a year nursing experience or a year travel experience. It was kinda hard for me to find my first travel job in the area I wanted because most of them wanted either two years nursing or 1 year travel.
