Thread: Anyone traveled w/ cats before?

Question Anyone traveled w/ cats before?

Hi - I'm a dialysis nurse getting ready to start traveling in January. Have 2 cats and just wondered if anyone has any experience traveling w/ pets. Any tips on traveling for miles in the car w/ them? Any tips on apartment do's and don'ts etc. Any advice would be great, especially since I've never traveled before and there are a MILLION things to consider even WITHOUT pets !!

    Thanks in advance,
    Sherrie

Definitely bring your cats with you.....your travel company will find a way to get housing without problems...and sometimes you may not even have to deal with a pet fee!
Cats are curious creatures, and will love the new environment to explore...my cats were able to adapt without too many issues....of course, bring something of theirs thats familiar...like their toys or treats....
My sister is a Vet, and had recommended some medication when i took my cats on long trips...my best advice is to ask your vet for their recommendation as i do not recall the med or the dose....(dont want to be accused of prescribing meds...an RN no no!)
At first, i too was stressed out about bringing the cats with me, as i was worried about how they would adapt...but it was the best choice...cant imagine being away from my babies....
    Best of luck!
