Hospitals in San Diego?

I am traveling to San Diego as a med/surg nurse coming from Boston with 2 years experience. Does anyone have any advice on hospitals to stay away from or ones that are as decent as can be for the San Diego area?

Hi there! I am a current traveler in San Diego at Pomerado Hospital. The people are really nice here and I highly recommend it as a first time assignment. Good Luck!

I worked at Scripps Memmorial in Chula Vista (very small hospital closest to Mex boarder). Supposedly an oncology unit, got everything else including boarder jumpers, lots of ortho, weird cancer procedures gone wrong in mexico, oral abcessess to name a few. Also, most of my pts did not speak english, most of the PCA's would help translate. It was an ok place, not my favourite. But it was totally worth it to live in San Diego!

Hi Martiforlife,
Tried to email you, but couldn't. I'm currently on assignment in Palm Springs and reeeeeallllly want to take a San Diego assignment as soon as I'm finished here (end of August). If you don't mind saying, could you tell me which travel company you're with? My recruiter is telling me that San Diego is low paying ($27-29) because housing is so high. He's saying he MAY be able to place me in Oceanside or Carlsbad, but I'd really like to be right there IN San Diego. Any suggestions, advice etc, will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Honey
