| Junior Member | I am thinking of traveling next year. I have questions on what other nurses do with their stuff. Do you take it with or put it in storage? Do travelers contantly live out of their suitcase? What do you do with your car? Will an agency rent you one or do you have to drive your own all over the country? If you end up in a bad neighborhood, how hard is it to get out? Should I have a lawyer look at my contract before I sign it? Thank you to anyone who can spare the time. |

| Re: Holy load of questions, Batman. Can someone answere? you might want to consider keeping your residence until you decide it is what you want then put it in storage. you can either take your car or not. i am in san francisco and have my car. i don't drive it i take public transprotation or walk. but my last assignment i needed it as i needed it in phoenix. if you go to a big city you could fly and rely on public transportation, some companies allow you to rent a car. the money usually comes from you. lower wages or no bonus. some companies will provide you with everything when you move in some provide you with nothing but basic furnishings. every company i worked for only provided housing and furnitiure i needed to bring my own linen table ware etc... it costs the companies very little to rent it but yet they don't. also if you don;t have a tax home your housing costs will become taxable to you and depending upon where you are could increase your tax liability by 24,000 at least. |
