HELP!!! I am looking into traveling nursing and really do not plan to take any jobs for another year, but thought I would research early. I have only been an RN for a year and a half and figured the extra year experience on a very busy trauma step down unit would help. Anyway, I am interested in finding out information about credentia and medical nurse staffing. Anyone with any thoughts? THANKS!!!!

Re: HELP!!! I think you have the right idea. I started as a traveler with only one year experience and I would recommend waiting it out a bit longer. You could get put into a situation like I did, not so friendly staff to go to with questions in a very busy unit.

Re: HELP!!! I have been a travel nurse for 4 years. When I though of traveling I was afraid. Don't let fear be the barrier. Medical treatment is the same it is the charting, hospital protocals and equipment that is different. It is all about adapting to a situation. Remember you are filling a need so it may be busy but if you can handle stress ,go for it!!. You can handle anything foir 13 weeks. YOu will get orientation on the unit. Just be professional. If you don't know....ask. Some nurses can be unfriendly but isn't that everywhere? your not there to make friends. Your their to make money and explore!!! Ask yourself how you adapt when you travel outside your unit. It is not much different. You cn also do prn work in your area to get your feet wet. It is much the same thing.
