Help. I have just been canceld by the Hospital, because they now have enough staff.... My contract is with my travel co. and my recuiter says the hospital can give 2 weeks notice and cancel. Now what... I have multiple obligations and cannot pick up and go. Do I have any recourse with my travel co.?? My recuiter says no other jobs available in the area and wants to look in the 100-200mile range away from here. (I've set roots) Help please... MJCRN

Re: Contract canceld by Hospital, Wish you good luck. I was in Atlanta,GA when the hospital canceled 15 contracts with the travel company. I know I had no recourse but go where they had avaliable at the time. :luck:

Re: Contract canceld by Hospital, Hi I have heard of many travelers having their contract under simlar situations as yours. A good friend of mine had her contract canceled after one week. She had traveled with a company in AK and was at 1 facility for 2 years. They did not renew and her agency fixed her up at another facility within the same area. It was that facility that canceled. Her agency had nothing going on in the area and gave her 48 hours to vacate apartment. What a blow after traveling for 2 years with the same company. In the end she traveled to CA from AK on assignment with another company. Advise to all travelers do all the paper work for at least two agencies that you are active with both and can pick up an assignment at moments notice from either one. Also many recruiters feel once you are with them and have done all the bull paper work they have got you cornered and not realy look after your interests. If many travelers were in a position to switch at a moments notice Recruiters would be more open to working with you
