| Considering Liquid Agents? I am considering going with Liquid Agents, any comments would be appreciated. They are boasting lots of contracts with good pay and private housing and very persistent....I do have a problem with letting them obtain a credit report...is this usual and why would my credit history have any bearing on my nursing competence? Does anyone feel the same...in this era of idenity fraud and theft...should we be allowing anyone and everyone to have information that is really not pertinent but could do us damage in the wrong hands...what do you thnk? |

| Admin aka Shortbus | Re: Considering Liquid Agents? I don't know of a Travel Nursing Company who doesn't boast of lots of contracts, great pay, private housing, and excellent benefits Personally, I wouldn't want to give someone my credit report when it has no bearing on my employment with them, however I definately know why they do it. I don't know much about Liquid Agents but I have heard both positive and negative feedback on them. Your best bet would be to talk with someone who has worked for Liquid Agents, otherwise you'll just have to try them out. I would choose the Staffing Company whose recruiter you are comfortable with. Make sure you are not signing up with a used car salesman type recruiter who will not be there for their nurses once things head south. Nurse recruiters work on commission (mostly, though some of them are salaried plus commission) so they are going to be persistent. Be patient and find the job you want with the company that you feel comfortable with. If you want more info from other companies you can fill out our information request form on the home page navigation to hear from our Travel Nursing Company Sponsors.

| Re: Considering Liquid Agents? I have never heard of Liquid Agents and have never had a company request a credit history. I have dealt with pushy recruiters before and they have all been bad experiences. I like recruiters who are there when I need them and follow thru with what they say but are NOT pushy. Did you find a good company to travel with? What is your specialty? |

Once I accepted the contract they attempted to place me in "housing" that was the worst that I have EVER experienced as a travel nurse. Their two choices were small poorly kept up old hotels which were locally known as "flop houses". So I found better housing and insisted that they pay for it. I received NO ORIENTATION at the hospital. They put me on the floor my first shift. Then I was sent alone, in the middle of the night to the ER to pick up a patient BECAUSE THE ER REFUSED TO BRING THE PATIENT TO THE UNIT. This was on my second night there. No one, not even the charge nurse would accompany me. THE ER NURSE REMOVED THE PATIENTS OXYGEN (HE WAS CP - R/O MI) and stated he could transport via wheelchair I became lost between units in a huge "deadspace" area at night (OR and Outpatient). The patient had to give me directions. I later found (via EKG and cardiac enzymes) that I had become lost (for about 10 minutes) WITH AN UNMONITORED PATIENT WITH NO OXYGEN WHO WAS HAVING AN ACUTE MI AT THE TIME!!! I complained to Liquid Agents. They did NOT back me up. The hospital cancelled my contract AND I WAS NEVER PAID! I had by this time worked two more shifts and I was owed about $2000. I contacted Liquid Agents and they stated that $1000 was for early termination (It was without cause!) and managed to deduct the rest for "housing, etc". This is the WORST agency that I have EVER worked through. Please don't make the mistake of working for them. \ | |
