CCTC Charges me if I am sick? Is this Normal?

So I am returning to Travel Nursing after a few years away. I have only ever worked for Cross Country. I have a new contract I am getting ready to sign but I notice a clause that says I have to pay them $15/hr for every hour I don't work. So if I call in sick I don't get paid - OK, but wait, I pay them $15/hr or $120/8 hour shift.

Is this normal? Has anyone out there worked for CCTC and experienced this?

I also saw in the terms & conditions that they "may" charge you for your housing for any day that you are sick.

I think you are given time to make up the sick time then you are not charged. ask them
I was on assignment in Florida when my son got injured and ended up in surgery then ICU for 5days. I flew to Massachusetts and stayed 7 days. My company did not charge me nor did I have to make up the time. This was RNNETWORK.

Depends on your company. I have been sick before, and not been charged, but there are companies that will charge you for housing, etc if you don't work your 36 hours/week. If you're only sick for a day or two, ask if you can make up the hours another week....
