mmmm..thats a good question tom...how come u never heard about MALTA!!! hehe am joking...

a small intro about us than....malta is a very small island just south of italy in the middle of the meditteranean sea. Very hot and sunny almost all year round covered by sea sea sea so guess you imagine swimming and sunbathing is one of the most common hobbies down here.... population is only 400,000 and since we are very small (you can drive from end to end in about 1 1/2 hrs) we have one major a and e receiving 110,000 yearly so you can understand we are a very busy a and e!!

most of a and e nurses in malta are qualified in TNCC or PHEC (basics) since we also cater pre-hospital. NO paramedics or ambulance technicians in ambulances but nurses.

usually our care is influenced by the british systems but lately we are building our own system by gaterhing info. from other countries like us, italy and spain.
