| hello, i'm having problems with the whole tn visa, ssn, practising license paperwork. so i have been offered a 3 month nursing job in hawaii and currently have a conditional hawaii license. conditional is that it is pending a tn visa and a ssn. so, the job offer does not have a start date because it is pending a practicing hawaii license which is pending tn visa and ssn as above. i have heard that you cannot get a tn visa without a start date, and that you cannot apply for a tn visa more than 2 weeks prior to your start date?? is this true?? if this is so then i will never meet a start date if they give me one because i cannot apply for a ssn until i have a tn visa and i have heard the ssn process can take a long time as well and if this is so, i cannot practice in hawaii until i get that ssn. so the process is sequential, and will never meet a actual start date of a job offer because of hawaii's law of no license without an actual ssn and a tn visa. I was planning to go the BC/Washington border this week with my letter of offer without a start date and see if they will give me a tn visa for 4-5 months this way i can start the ssn/license process and hope it will be all worked out by a month so i can start the three month contract. CAN ANYONE WHO HAS DONE THIS PROCESS FOR HAWAII BEFORE HELP ME OUT??????? thank you very much. |
