Dont' change it, and don't tell your insurance company you will be traveling.
When I started traveling, I tried to do the right thing by telling State Farm that my old state of primary residence (WI), would be changing to FL for the next 3 months (incase the rates would be different, or whatever). They said OK, and told me to go to a State Farm office in FL when I got there. I did, and in FL, they said they couldn't insure me because I wasn't a permanent resident of FL. Then, when I called my agent back in WI to let him know this, they said they couldn't insure me either because WI was no longer the primary location for my vehicle.... so they dropped me.
I had to scramble to find new insurance, and you can bet I didn't tell them a word about traveling. Then, 2 years later, we got in a pretty bad accident while traveling. I was with Esurance (still am) at the time, they knew I was temporarily out of state "on business," and they didn't give me any problems with the claim.
