I have been traveling for about a year and a half. I started with Sunbelt and did a couple of assignments with them, one with 3 extensions. The last extension was out of necessity because my recruiter was fired(he stood up for one of his nurses)and my new recruiter, Kevin was unaware that my contract was over in 2 weeks. An extension was all I could do to continue to get paid. I held licenses in 3 states at that time (AL, MS, GA). I changed companies to On Assignment and had an interview and contract in two days. I specified that I wanted to go to Florida for the summer with my family and had my Florida license by now. My pay was worse than the local hospital would have paid, but I promised my kids Florida. The housing was awesome, but the pay was so bad, we couldn't afford to do anything special. I am now with Liquid Agents. I am in Dalton Ga and am paid well, because I take the housing stipend. I have told my last few recruiters that I want to make the "big bucks" I hear are out there($40's) and if I have to go to California to do it, I am willing to go that far without my family for 13 weeks to get it. Now I am being told that those rates are not there and that I make really good where I am. I have talked with AMH, but I am really scared at what I am reading. I want a company that I can stay with. I am tired of changing companies and insurance. I live in Alabama and now have licenses in AL, GA, MS, FL and CO. I have a minimum amount I have to bring home and have told the recruiters, find me a job making this and I will go. However, I am not willing to go to CA to make this rate if I can stay close to home and make the same rate. Please help me with good info on a good few companies to check out.: ![]()

I have traveled with Nightingale, wouldn't advise it. I had to sue them over my final paycheck. Took 8 months and a very good lawyer but finally got my money from them. I have also traveled with Access Nurses. Had a couple good assignments with them in CA and AZ. I'm with TNS (Travel Nurse Solutions) now and love them. Don't have anything bad to say about them. My recruiter has been great as has the housing director and my recruiters assistants. The pay is MUCH better than with any of the other companies I've work with and it seems to be higher than several other companies that I have talked with nurses that work for them. Biggest draw back. Sometimes it's hard to go where I'd like, but they always find me good assignments for VERY good money

Re: Can't find the right company Freedom Healthcare Staffing(message me if you want my recruiter)--my first time with them and so far, so good. The unit I am working in was in 'critical staffing' mode, so that's why the pay is so good amcerwik--you will NEVER make $40 an hour with American Mobile--in my opinion, THE WORST TRAVEL COMPANY in the industry. They are too big to even care about you and the pay is AWFUL.
