Best Nursing Job You\'ve Ever Had?

What is the best Nursing Job you've ever had?

I don't do Travel Nursing because I have two children. I'm a pretty new nurse, so I haven't done much. Heck, I'm not even working as a nurse right now. I love Nursing, taking care of patients, helping people, etc., but that doesn't always make for a good job.

So, what made your job good? If you are a Travel Nurse, was it the location? If you worked the floor was it your fellow nurses, or the doctors (yeah, right)?

I think if I was a singe travel nurse I'd be in California somewhere near the beach. Las Vegas would be a good destination but I've heard ER Nurses talk about Vegas like it was hell on earth. I'd probably be working OT to pay my gambling debts though...

I know there is a hospital in Cali that let's you do 4 week assignments and then after that you can come back any time and do two weekers. That would be ideal if you had kids. I still can't do it though .

Maybe you like working in a clinic or a doctors office...

I don't know, that's why I'm asking!!!

Re: Best Nursing Job You\'ve Ever Had?

My best nursing job was at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. I was traveling with Nurse Management Services as a LPN. I had an assignment in their OB/GYN clinc for 6 months were I basically sat on my butt and gave patients instructions on how to take their prenatal vitamins and iron pills! Sometimes I gave a Rhogam shot or Rocephin. I was paid well, had all holidays off and worked 8-430p M-F. The only bad thing about it was that I gained about 10 pounds!!!
