Thread: Traveling with RV's

    Traveling with RV\'s

I am going to travel this February. I am considering buying a motor home and I want to know if any other RV'ers ever had trouble finding a place to park your RV. I also want to know the average cost/month to park an RV for 3 months, and any advice you would have. I want to know if I could clear the payment and expenses with the stipends they give you. I'm looking at an RV payment of around $600.00/month. I have to check into insurance, taxes, etc but my biggest concern is finding a place to park it.
    Thanks!

I have been a full-time RVer for over a year and definitly would suggest it!! It is much easier for us, since my hubby and son travel with me also.

I have paid from $500/month in California to $260 in Oklahoma for rent. You just have to make sure that you find an RV park before taking the assignment. I always check out the location of hospital and RV park location before interviewing. Only has been one place that I have looked into that didn't have an RV park. Might limit you some, but not too much. Conneticut doesn't have many, don't know of any other state that is short on RV parks.

    Hope that this helps!

Yes, that's very helpful and encouraging. I just bought my RV yesterday. Now I'm putting my house up for rent. Do you remember any particular parks you would recommend?

Do you just go through KOA and Good Sam's etc? Do they give you a monthly rate? If I went with a nightly rate, it would bankrupt me.What is your primary resource for finding a resonably priced campground? I am looking in Eastern Pa., Northern Ca. Arizona, and I'm not sure where else. Any suggestions in those spots?
Thanks so much. It has been a fear factor for me. I just listed my house for rent last week. I was laid up with a Peptic ulcer bleed, in February. Talk about thinking you're invincible! Oh well.
As soon as my house rents I have to get an assignment and go so I can't plan too far in advance. It doesn't really benefit me financially to go before it rents.
Anyway, please reply or e-mail me at lindypoet@yahoo.com
    Thanks.

We have some friends that are traveling OR techs. They have a 5th. Wheel home. You should look into "work campers" at the camp grounds. You can camp free for working 10-40 hours per week in the front office, etc. If one of you are retired, it makes good sense to do this.

A guy I work with here in Arizona travels with his RV. We work for the same travel company. There seems to be alot of parks here in Arizona. My company is Adex Medical Staffing if you want to inquire.
