Not American Mobile!!!!! American mobile is the biggest travel company and can get you anywhere you want for assignments....but thats where the good stuff ends.... From personal experience, every pay check was wrong....my recruiter was difficult to get hold of most of the time, and when i was able to, she wasnt receptive to my needs either! The last straw was when they sent me to AZ and misrepresented the hospital that i was to work at....it was a nitemare of an assignment that only lasted 2 weeks! IT SUCKED! American Travler is a good one, and ive heard good things about Nurses RX too! I wish you the best of luck!

| Re: american mobile anyone? I HAVE BEEN A NURSE FOR 18 YRS, AND A TRAVELER FOR THE PAST 5 YRS. I FINALLY TOOK A CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN MOBILE AFTER THEY CALLED ME FOR 12 MTHS. THE RECRUITER, "KATIE" SEEMED NICE AT FIRST, BUT NOTHING SHE TOLD ME EVER PANNED OUT. THE ASSIGNMENT WAS DIFFICULT, A LEVEL 1 TRAUMA CENTER ER, AND IT WAS THE LOWEST PAYING ASSIGNMENT I HAVE EVER TAKEN. OTHER TRAVELERS THERE WERE MAKING 5 - 6 $ MORE PER HOUR THAN ME. EVERYTHING OUT OF HER MOUTH WAS DECEITFUL AND MANIPULATING. I WILL NEVER TAKE ANOTHER ASSIGNMENT WITH THEM, OR ANY OF THERE SISTER COMPANIES. I AM CURRENTLY WITH TRAVEL NURSE ACCROSS AMERICA, DONNA IS MY RECRUITER, THE PAY IS GOOD, THE HOUSING IS WONDERFUL, I HOPR TO BE WITH THEM FOR A LONG TIME. | Re: american mobile anyone? Spend enough time on this forum and you will see that American mobile should not be a first choice. And yes, I have worked for them. RN Network is a solid company. I have been with them for 6-7 years now and traveling over ten. They have their problems with miscommunications as most of the larger companies do. However, what separates them is that they always make right. If you like, message me here (TravelerDMRN) and I will be happy to put you in direct contact with my recruiter or answer any questions you might have. |

Re: american mobile anyone? I was with American Mobile on my first assignment which I just broke. Terrible facitlity they sent me to. Start dates continued to get put off so I had no choice but to take the one that came available. American Mobile is a very large company. They own RN Magazine and RN.com. I feel bad for breaking my contract but the facility I was sent to didnt beleive in Team Nursing. I dont even think they knew what that was. Facility didnt use good infection control measures. I was doing a sterile dressing change on a trach patient who was on a vent and had MRSA. I was gowned, gloved, masked, etc. But guess what? No bed bags. I asked where to put my dirty dressing materials and was told to put it in the "soiled diaper" bag. I was in shock. I was asked to pass meds on 40 patients..no problem but in order to get med pass done, I had to start it at 645 and got thru at 1040. Breaking the nurse practice act is not my idea of "a dream job". Stayed sick the whole time..the lst goes on and on. I finally decided to leave last week 3.5 weeks early. Sounds crazy I know but I was staying sick all the time. I was so afraid for my license. So yeah, stay away from American Mobile. They are worse than car salesmen........on selling you a position.

i would suggest, don't do it. even if you get a good recruiter (which i had) they're very restricted as to how much they canhelp you. i was with a sister co. of amn (of which there are at least 5) for several years as benefits gradually disappeared i finall had to break. suggestion: ask your initial contact or recruiter what company you are affiliated with???

Re: american mobile anyone? Don't sign up with American Mobile!!! I worked with them for one assignment (my first). They have the worst pay rate. If you compare several companies, you will see that they have the lowest bonus amount when a facility offers a bonus for completion or sign on. They do have multiple branches of their company, so watch out for that. too. My recuiter was good, but when they shorted me nearly $1000 out of my check just before Christmas and I lost it. Their plan was just to put it in my next check in two weeks. I feel if there is that big of a difference, they should and can dispense a check upon notification. They charged me a deposit fee for my housing of $300. They didn't return it until I contacted them. I did get the deposit back, but two months after my assignment ended. They have a great advertisement team and their company starts with an "A", so they are one of the first agencies you will come into contact with. They should absolutely be the last one you sign up with.

Re: american mobile anyone? so..okay you should be convinced. but just to say, there are many to chose from...amn and their cohorts not good. also, ther are others. your on the right track by asking questions, most important ask other travelers you may work with (beware of those only trying to get the reward).

Re: american mobile anyone? I am traveling with American Mobile and have been since Feb. 2008. Up until this last extension I had not had any problems with them. Well, it seems the longer you stay the more problems you have. I have found that they do low ball on salary, are not forthcoming with their rules regarding bonuses, etc., and they don't provide the best in housing by a long shot. I would try another company, as I will do soon. I feel certain you could do much better than AMN.
