    New to forum

Hi everyone, my name is Darlene and have been a nurse for almost 13 years. I am strongly thinking about travel nursing in September. Looking for a new adventure. I have done med-surg 5 years, but my heart is in postpartum of almost 8 years.

Thanks for the welcome Cary! Looks like you have better temperatures there in Washington than we do here in Mississippi.

From what I understand, he may be moving back to Texas soon. So much for the temps!

Definitely moving back to Texas mid-SEP. The temps are 20-30' cooler here in WA than Central Texas right now. However, Texas is NEVER as hot as Southern Iraq. That's a FACT I'll not soon enough forget.

    Welcome,

I have a question. It was suggested to me that i should work in med-surg before i do anything in a hospital. I really want to work on the OB floor. Would you suggest the same as well?

I have the upmost respect for med/surg nurses. However, it being a must to work M/S Flr for 12 months out of nursing school is way overrated, IMHO. Apply to OB now, if that is your interest. Good luck!
