I have worked on an oncology / medsurg floor for about 4 years now. Single, no children and really wanting a change and more money. My apartment lease is up in April. I live in Louisiana and am willing to go anywhere, really. Any experienced travel nurses have any advice on how to increase my income in this market at this time? Is it a good time? I am taxed pretty heavily being single, non-homeowner and I currently bring home about $3200 a month after taxes. Is it realistic of me to think that I can make more money than that in the travel nurse industry at this time? Any advice is truly appreciated!

Hi Michelle,
You will make more money because you will have free housing, so that is huge.
Not sure what the hourly rate will be, but, depends where you go.
You can start calling recruiters, but, sometimes they tell you whatever you want to hear. So, best to see if any Onc nurses respond to this message.
Start checking travel websites to see where Onc jobs are.
