Travel to Portland Maine

I'm an inner city Er RN in Baltimore. My wife and I are thinking of moving to Portland Maine. I'm thinking I should take a travel assignment there first. Any info on what working there is like (Travelers or staff).

I'm not sure how to get the skinny on the scene... Average critical care agency pay for weekday nights, critical care/er is like $41/hr here. I'm very curious as to whether it's comparable there, because the cost of living seems way cheaper than Baltimore...
